Paul Schrank - President
Paul's career began in 1997 with National Auto Care Corp. (NAC) while he pursued his studies at The Ohio State University. In 1999, he briefly exited the industry expanding his professional resume by undertaking the responsibility of managing the accounting functions for a multitude of mutual funds. Demonstrating his multifaceted expertise, Paul returned to NAC in 2004, and was pivotal in expanding the Risk Management department.
His strategic focus encompassed the development and rating of innovative products and programs. Collaborating seamlessly with insurers, agents, and dealers, Paul played a key role in meticulously managing individual and overall risk. Notably, in 2006, he assumed the pivotal position of Reinsurance Manager, overseeing the entire reinsurance program while continuing to contribute significantly to the risk department.
In a testament to his versatility, Paul transitioned this role to the accounting department in 2008. Here, he worked directly under the controller, leveraging his accounting acumen to streamline process, facilitate annual audits, and adeptly manage both the reinsurance and profit participation programs.
A visionary leader, Paul founded ReinsuranceAdvisor.com in 2012, responding to the industry's demand for a more independent Reinsurance Manager and consultant. Graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Risk Management & Insurance from Ohio State University, he further honed his expertise at Ohio Dominican University, earning a Certificate of Accounting.
Paul, happily married to his wife Christina for over 20 years, is not only a seasoned professional but also a devoted family man. Their household is enriched by the dynamism of three remarkably active children.
Pam Hamilton - Chief Financial Officer
Pamela's distinguished career began with American General Corporation, now a part of the esteemed American International Group, where she served as the Tax Manager in the Corporate Tax Department for eight years. Demonstrating her financial acumen, she then assumed the role of Controller at a Texas-based reinsurance company, overseeing GAAP and Statutory financials as well as managing all NAIC filings.
Her next decade was marked by an influential tenure at KPMG LLP, where she specialized in servicing a predominantly insurance-centric client base, including affiliated reinsurance entities of automobile dealers. Pamela played a pivotal role in tax consulting and compliance, overseeing the filing of thousands of tax returns for these insurance companies.
Prior to co-founding Asterix Pamela had been the driving force as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of Portfolio for over 11 years. In this leadership role, she spearheaded financial reporting, GAAP audits, budgeting, cash management, and tax filings, showcasing her multifaceted expertise. Her significant involvement in the company's acquisition in 2012 underscored her strategic prowess.
Pamela's breadth of experience extends beyond financial management. She has played a key role in the administration of reinsurance companies, serving as an advisor to Managing Directors, Reinsurance Specialists, and agents during her tenure at Portfolio for all reinsurance-related matters.
An alumna of the University of Houston, Pamela graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1986, Pamela boasts over 38 years of invaluable experience in the insurance industry.
Outside her illustrious professional journey, Pamela has celebrated over 25 years of marital bliss with her husband Jay.
